Description

The Crispin Inn is a public house that dates back to the 17th century, with additions and alterations made in the 19th century. The building features rendered rubble and coursed rubble gritstone, with quoins, coped and plain gables, and ridge and gable ashlar stacks, topped with Welsh slated roofs. The earlier section of the building is an L-plan range to the south, while the taller 19th-century range is to the north, also with coped gables.

The east elevation is two storeys high and consists of six bays. The southern three bays have three ground floor windows, including one with two lights and two with three lights, all in plain openings and fitted with 20th-century casements. Above these, there are three small glazing bar sashes with margin lights. Between the windows, there is a painted board that provides details about the history of the house.

A small advanced lean-to porch connects to the taller three-bay range, which features three three-light windows in flush stone surrounds. The central window is linked to a doorway with a flush surround and a plain plank door. The window frames in this section are also 20th-century six-pane casements. There is a garage opening at the north end, which has planked doors. On the first floor, the windows are glazing-bar sashes set in painted flush surrounds. It is noted that the lower part of the building previously had a thatched roof.
