Description

The barn, situated north of Hagg Hill House, dates to 1693, with subsequent alterations in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins, and has a slate roof with a stone ridge and moulded stone copings incorporating plain kneelers. The barn is a single-story, rectangular building of six bays. A large, segmental-headed arch, framed by quoins, is set into the west gable wall, likely inserted in the early 19th century. On the south side are various 19th-century flush doorcases and small windows. A datestone, positioned midway along the barn near the eaves, is inscribed 'CFK 1693'. The building is included on the heritage register primarily for its group value.
