Description

Over Asher is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed sandstone with a Welsh slate roof. The gables have copings and kneelers, with ashlar chimney caps to the main house. The main house is three storeys high and two bays wide, featuring flat-faced mullioned windows, some now with UPVC and timber casements. The second floor has two narrow sashes without glazing bars. The upper floors’ outer bays have windows of two lights, while the central bay has one-light windows; their stone frames are linked vertically to enclose a blocked light between them. The ground floor's left-hand bay has a 20th-century bow window, and the right-hand bay has a two-light window. Between these are two openings: a doorway with a stone surround to the left, and a window with an altered opening to the right. A lower, two-storey wing extends to the left, featuring a timber casement window on the first floor and a two-sided canted uPVC window on the ground floor to the left of a glazed doorway.
