Description
Oak House is a house built in the early 19th century, with 20th-century additions and alterations. It is constructed from roughcast coal measures sandstone and features advanced chamfered quoins, coped gables with moulded kneelers, and rebuilt brick gable stacks with moulded drips. The roof is covered with Welsh slate.
On the south elevation, the house has two storeys and three bays, with a recessed single bay addition at the west end added in the 20th century. The central doorway has a moulded architrave, a radiating fanlight, and an open pediment, with a 20th-century six-panelled door. The flanking windows are sash windows with margin glazing, set within plain band surrounds. The rear elevation includes an off-centre doorway with a massive surround and lintel, and there is a two-storey addition set back to the west that was built in 1984.
