Description

74 Church Street is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared coal measures sandstone with ashlar dressings, featuring gable brick stacks and a roof covered with Welsh slate. The building has a double pile plan and is two storeys high with two bays on the southeast elevation. A central doorway is set within a massive stone surround and features a four-panelled door, with the upper two panels being glazed. On either side of the doorway are stacked glazing bar sash windows with four panes by four panes, which have channelled wedge lintels and projecting cills. The rear range includes sash windows with margin glazing. This building is listed for its group value only.
