Description
Camms House, located at No 64 on Church Street in Eckington, is a house dating from the mid-18th century, which was remodeled in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared coal measures sandstone with ashlar dressings, featuring flush quoins, gable and ridge stacks, and a roof covered with Welsh slate. The house has an L-plan layout, with a brick stair tower at the rear.
The south elevation is three storeys high and consists of three bays, each fitted with margin light sash windows that are set in projecting painted stone surrounds. The central doorway has a painted stone surround and features a six-panelled door with a rectangular overlight above. The rear range includes a flush mullioned window from the 18th century, along with a transomed stair window in the brick tower.
