Description
Ashover Hay Primitive Methodist Chapel is a Nonconformist chapel built in 1824 and enlarged in 1870. It is constructed from coursed squared rubble gritstone and features plain eaves, along with a Welsh slated roof that has stone slated eaves courses. The south elevation presents a gabled front with an offshut extension on the east side. The central doorway of the gable has a semicircular headed doorhead, complete with an advanced keyblock and archivolts. On either side of the doorway are taller windows, also with semicircular heads and detailed similarly to the doorway, featuring glazing bar sash windows. Above the doorway, there is a rectangular plaque that reads: 'Primitive Methodist Chapel. Erected 1824. Enlarged 1870.'
