Description
The gate piers and lychgate, along with the attached railings and wall surrounding All Saints Churchyard, were constructed in two phases: the gate piers, wall, and railings were built in 1817, while the lychgate was added in 1923. The gate piers are made of ashlar stone, the wall is built from red brick, and the railings are made of iron. The lychgate features a timber structure with a plain tile roof and wavy bargeboards.
On the south side of the churchyard, there are continuous railings with pointed or urn finials set on a low chamfered stone plinth. At the north end, there are a pair of rusticated stone gate piers topped with chamfered copings. To the east of these gate piers is a high brick wall that also has chamfered stone copings and brick abutments on the south side. The lychgate, located to the east of the gate piers, includes double wooden gates adorned with a frieze of pierced quatrefoils at the top of each gate. The sides of the lychgate have a solid base and are open above, featuring corner braces that support the roof trusses, which are filled with vertical studs.
