Description
Sundial Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of random rubble limestone, featuring quoins and dressings, and has a plain tile roof. The building has an off-centre brick ridge stack that is decorated with dogtooth detailing, and the stone coped gables are supported by kneelers.
The cottage is two storeys high with a two-bay front. There is a modern door located under a chamfered lintel, next to a 18th-century two-light mullioned window that has a 20th-century casement. To the north, there is another modern door set in an early doorcase with a dripmould. Above, in the dormer gables, are two three-light chamfered mullion windows, also with dripmoulds, featuring small paned casements. Inside, there is a large 18th-century stone bracketed fireplace.
