Description
Sycamore Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse located on the north side of Ashbourne Road in Hopton and Griffe Grange. The building is constructed of red brick with vitrified headers and features flush gritstone dressings, except for the side walls which are made of coursed gritstone rubble. It has a plain tile roof with a stone ridge, brick gable end, and ridge stacks, along with stone copings that have moulded kneelers.
The farmhouse is two storeys high with attics. The south elevation includes a central semi-circular projecting bay that has a Venetian window at the front and a glazed door to the east. On either side of the bay, there are 2-light flush mullion windows with small paned casements. The upper elevation mirrors the lower but does not have a door. The bay features a moulded stone cornice, while the rest of the building has a sawtooth and dentilled brick cornice.
