Description
The outbuildings to the west of Snelston Hall date from the mid-19th century and have undergone minor alterations in the 20th century. They are constructed from red brick with brick and stone detailing, topped with plain tile roofs that feature stone-coped gables and moulded kneelers. A central square timber dovecote with an iron weathervane sits atop the structure.
The buildings form three sides of a square, with a two-storey, five-bay structure on the western side and single-storey wings curving around from either side. The western building has an advanced central gabled bay that includes a four-centred brick doorcase with a plank door, flanked by four-centred arched windows and doorcases, all featuring stone quoins on the jambs. Above these, there are two metal casements on each side, and a stone niche in the central gable.
The side wings each have two four-centred arched doorcases with plank doors in curving sections, and beyond these are two large four-centred brick archways with similar doors. Each gabled end has had 20th-century doors inserted. The wings are connected by plain brick walls with stone copings, which meet at a pair of central wooden gates with Gothic-style panelling. These outbuildings are included for their group value only.
