Description

Matlock Bath Station, built around 1849, is a single-storey structure featuring a timber frame with herringbone brick nogging. It has eight tall wood mullioned windows, which are fitted with "Gothic" cast iron glazing bars. The station's design includes an advanced gabled wing at the center that has two windows and a central doorway. The gabled ends are characterized by bold verges and overhanging, bracketed eaves, and the roof is tiled. The footbridge and platform canopy have been removed, and the station is no longer in use.
