Description

The Old Tollhouse is a mid-19th century building located on the south-west side of Derby Road, part of the later section of the Derby Turnpike Road. Designed in the Victorian Tudor style, it features red brick construction and a slate roof adorned with bands of fishscale tiles. The building has a gabled roof with decorative fretted bargeboards and finials. It includes Tudor-style windows with intricate glazing, a large chimney stack, and smaller subsidiary chimneys. The structure is T-shaped, with the stem of the T oriented towards the new road. Below the gable, there is a former signboard that is now blank.
