Description
Upperfield Farmhouse, built in the late 18th century, is a farmhouse made of coursed squared gritstone with a plain tile roof. It features stone-coped gables with kneelers and brick gable end stacks. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The south elevation displays irregular window arrangements, with an off-centre doorway that has a massive stone lintel. The windows are one and two-light openings, also with massive stone lintels and small-paned casements.
Adjoining the farmhouse to the west is a two-storey cowhouse, which is linked by a continuous roof. This structure is constructed from coursed squared gritstone and has a Welsh slate roof with a stone-coped gable at the west end. The cowhouse has three doorways with stone frames and massive lintels, along with one first-floor opening that also features a stone lintel. To the east, there is a full-height opening that separates the house from the cowhouse.
