Description
Dunston Farm buildings, located to the northeast of the farmhouse at Dunston Hall Farm, have medieval origins. The exterior features a range of stone farm buildings from the 17th to early 18th century. The western part conceals a cruck framed building, which is part of a larger range of structures to the west of Dunston Hall. The buildings are constructed from coursed stone with quoins and have a stone slate roof on the western section, while the eastern part has a corrugated asbestos roof. The buildings are two storeys high and include one window in the western gable with a door below it, as well as two additional ground floor windows and a door above. The eastern gable is advanced and features an external staircase. There is a former centre segmental arch with a keystone and an eastern window, along with three pitching eyes above. The gable ends are coped with kneelers. Inside, the roof trusses include a collar and tie beam. The northern face of the building has rectangular vents and three blocked doors, all with large quoins; the eastern door is round arched with a keystone. Additionally, there is a small early 18th century building in the southeast corner of the farmyard made of red brick with stone quoins, featuring a roof with coped gable ends and kneelers, as well as an external wooden stair.
