Description

This chest tomb, located 10 metres southwest of the Church of St John the Baptist, dates from around 1719 and is made of sandstone ashlar. It features a plain chest constructed from slabs of ashlar and has a flat slab top with a moulded edge. The tomb includes a square inlaid panel that displays a relief carving of a coat of arms along with tools associated with a joiner or mason, such as an axe, hammer, pair of dividers, shovel, and a drill. The inscription reads "R : N : 1690 : I: N 1719 1719".
