SK 45 NE PARISH OF PINXTON BROOKHILL LANE 13/133 (South Side) Stableblock at 8.7.66 Brookhill Hall GV II

Stableblock, now house. Early C19, converted c1970. Red brick with brick and stone dressings, hipped graduated Westmorland slate roof with lead flashings and dentilled brick eaves band. U-plan. Central three storey single bay tower with flanking two storey 3 bay wings with return wings to either end. Main front has stone plinth and continuous stone band at impost level of ground floor openings. Centre bay advanced and with steps to plank door with Gothick traceried fanlight set in blind semi- circular headed recess. Three similar blind recesses to either side, each with 2- light casement below Gothick traceried fanlight within. Above, seven 2-light casement windows below flat brick arches. All windows with projecting sills. Hipped roof to wings. Plain brick band at eaves level to tower, and clockface in blind square panel to third storey, also below flat brick arch. Hipped roof with central brick stack flanked by octagonal timber turrets with arched sides, alternately glazed and louvred, and leaded roof with tall finials. Left return has blocked cart entrance with two segment headed doors to right and three circular pitching doors over, now glazed. Rear and interior, all C20.
