Description

This early 19th-century pigeon house and outbuilding is located on the west side of Steetley Lane, in the parish of Whitwell. The building is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with a pantile roof. The elevation facing the farmyard features a gabled pigeon house on the left-hand side. This section has a doorway, topped with a flat arch, containing a plank door, and a flight of stone steps leading to a similar doorway above. A smaller doorway is situated above this again. A rectangular, louvred opening is visible in the gable. A lean-to building to the left is characterised by two broad doorways with flat arches. To the right of the pigeon house is a blocked doorway containing a window, a doorway with stable-type doors, and another blocked doorway also containing a window.
