Description

Steetley Farmhouse is an 18th and 19th century farmhouse with attached outbuildings, situated on the west side of Steetley Lane in the parish of Whitwell. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with sandstone dressings, featuring stone slate and pantile roofs and two brick ridge stacks. The gables are stone coped with plain kneelers. The east elevation of the house has four bays, with a doorway to the left containing a plain stone surround and plank door. To the right of this is a two-light casement window set beneath a flat arch. Further right is a doorway with a pair of 20th-century glazed doors, and two more two-light casement windows. A further four similar windows are located above. Attached to the left is a range of outbuildings. A lower section of these outbuildings has a doorway with a plank door and two two-light casements above. To the left again is an external flight of stone steps leading up to a doorway with a plank door. Four further irregular openings are visible to the left, and two above.
