Description
Shaw Wood Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1750. It is constructed from coursed rubble coal measures sandstone and features coped gables, end ridge brick stacks, and a stone slated roof. The building has three storeys and three bays, with stacked 2-light flush mullioned windows in the end bays and a single light window above a central doorway. The central doorway has a planked two-panel door with a massive lintel and a quoined surround. At the north end, there is a lower single bay range that includes two 2-light flush mullioned windows, a coped gable, an end brick stack, and a planked two-panel door. There is also a 20th-century brick lean-to attached to the end.
