Description
Coneygrey Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse built from coursed rubble coal measures sandstone. It features a shallow plinth, chamfered quoins, a moulded eaves cornice, coped gables, and end ashlar ridge stacks. The roof is slated but now has a 20th-century waterproofing covering. The main range has three bays and two storeys, with a lower two-bay hipped roof range attached at the south end. The main range has a flat band linking the heads of the first-floor windows. All window openings were originally sashes but now have 20th-century glazing in plain stone surrounds. The central doorway has a Gibbs surround and a 20th-century six-panelled door beneath a rectangular three-pane overlight, with a shallow moulded cornice above it. The southern range has plain surrounds to the window openings and 20th-century glazing. The rear elevation features a three-stage stair window with a flush surround, a two-light flush mullioned window, and a blocked doorway with a quoined surround.
