Description
No. 52 Town Street is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick with painted stone dressings and features a Welsh slate roof with a single brick ridge stack. The building has a chamfered stone plinth, stone sill bands on the first and second floors, and a stone cornice with dentils at the eaves.
The east elevation consists of three bays and is three storeys high. The entrance is off-centre, featuring a plain moulded stone surround and a raised and fielded panelled door. To the right of the entrance is a 2-light small pane casement window with a segmental head. To the left, there is a canted bay window that extends through all three storeys, with the ground floor having been altered to replace a 20th-century shop window. Further left, there is a broad rusticated elliptical carriage arch. The ground and first floors each have a 2-light segment-headed window on either side of the canted bay, while the second floor has a 2-light window with a flat arch, again on either side of the canted bay.
