Description
Hopping Hill Terrace Coal Shute, located adjacent to number 14 West Terrace in Milford, was built between 1800 and 1819. This structure is a wide stone-paved embanked shute that allowed carts to tip their loads into the yard at the end of the terrace. Although the opening has been infilled with stone, brackets for a former iron chain across the pavement edge of the shute are still present.
