Description
Nos 29 and 30 Hopping Hill is a pair of early industrial houses built between 1792 and 1797 by Strutts. They form a tall angled corner block at the end of a terrace, with Nos 31 to 52 containing a central shopfront. The buildings are constructed of coursed stone with a slate roof and have end brick chimneys. They are three storeys high, although No 30 has had its top floor windows extended to dormers. There are three windows in total, with the central window featuring margin lights, sashes, and late 19th-century glazing. The angled shop front in the centre includes a recessed door and an overall cornice. There are steps leading to a paved forecourt with a low coped wall to the south, while the north side has sloping doors leading to a cellar store.
