Description
Nos 31 to 52 Hopping Hill is a Grade II listed building, constructed between 1792 and 1797 by the Strutt family to accommodate workers in their cotton mills. This long terrace is built from coursed stone and features a slate roof with brick chimneys. The facade of No 37 has been rendered. The building stands three storeys high, with one window each, including sashes and casements. The top floors have small iron-framed windows designed by Strutt, similar to those found at Nos 1 to 28. Some modern glazing is present in certain spaces. The first-floor windows and doors are adorned with voussoirs. There are coursed stone garden walls with coping along the street, which ramp up between each garden, and stone steps leading up to the front doors.
