Description

The cowhouse and piggery located to the east of Cowley Cottage is a farm outbuilding dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from regularly coursed gritstone and features coped gables on both the north and south sides, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building has an "L" shaped layout that faces Cowley Cottage and includes five doorways, each with heavy lintels, quoined surrounds, and planked doors. Four of these openings have stable doors. There are also doors for an overloft, which are fitted with plain boarded shutters. The south gable includes feeding troughs and piggery doors on the ground floor. This structure is listed for its group value.
