Description
Greenbank Cottage is a house that was originally a house and cottage, built in the late 18th century and remodeled in the 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble gritstone, with quoins at the ends, a moulded eaves cornice, and both end and intermediate ashlar stacks. It has a concrete tiled roof and stands two storeys high with three bays. The sash windows are set into the masonry without any surrounds. There are two doorways: one at the northwest end featuring substantial jambs, a shallow bracketed hood, and a 20th-century six-panelled door; and another at the southeast end with a massive surround and lintel, leading to a four-panelled stable door. At the rear, there are single-storey extensions with pitched roofs, which include some 18th-century surrounds to the openings.
