Description

The Congregational Chapel is a Non-conformist chapel dated 1841. It is constructed of ashlar and coursed squared gritstone, featuring an ashlar front, quoins, and a hipped slate roof behind a pediment. The southwest elevation has tall semi-circular headed blind recesses, with keyblocks at the arch heads and impost blocks surrounding the projecting stone. The central doorway has a semi-circular head with intersecting glazing bars and double doors, each consisting of two panels. The pediment has a moulded cornice and coping, with a stone plaque at the apex inscribed 'Congregational Chapel 1841'. The side wall windows also have semi-circular arched heads and cast iron window frames with intersecting glazing bars at the heads.
