Description
The former threshing barn, now used as an outbuilding, dates from 1817. It is constructed of coursed squared rubble gritstone with quoins and features a hipped roof covered with plain tiles and stone slated eaves. The north elevation has two storeys and five bays, with a central doorway that has a massive quoined surround, accessed by double flights of steps. There is a matching doorway at the east end, and both openings have plain planked doors. Above the central doorway, there is an inscription that reads "W.E.N. 1817." The rear elevation retains full-height double doors that were originally for the threshing bay, along with planked taking-in doors on the first floor and stepped approaches to the overloft doorways at either end. The barn is listed for its group value.
