Description
The Metropolitan Police Public Call Post at the National Tramway Museum is a police call box dating from around 1925 or earlier. It is made of cast iron and has a square plan with a segmental domed top that is topped by a light. The sides are panelled, featuring a small door at the front, which has a modern instruction panel attached. Above the door is a raised panel that reads "POLICE PUBLIC CALL POST," and above this is a crown flanked by the letters M and P. This call box was originally obtained from Hendon Police Headquarters and was relocated to its current site in 1983.
