Description
The K1 Telephone Box at The National Tramway Museum is a Grade II listed structure dating from 1921. It is made of pre-cast concrete, iron, and wood, featuring a square plan. The box has a wooden door with a six-pane window, and similar windows are located on the sides. It has projecting eaves and a curved roof, which is topped with a single enamelled sign on each side that reads "TELEPHONE." Above the signs are curly iron embellishments and a spearhead finial. Originally, this telephone box was located within the grounds of Birch Hill Hospital in Rochdale.
