Description
Champion Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of red brick, featuring Welsh slate hipped roofs that are gabled to the west. The building stands two storeys tall and has a distinctive plan with a tall rectangular range that includes a segment curved wall to the east, flanked by lower ranges to the north and south, each with a recessed central part and slightly projecting wings.
The east elevation has three bays, with a tall and broad central bay that has a bowed front. Each floor features a three-light casement window with returned brick hoodmoulds. The outer bays contain blind windows with round arched heads set within large recessed round arched panels.
The south elevation also has three bays, with a narrow recessed central bay that includes a tall round-arched entrance leading to a recessed porch, which features a panelled door. The broad projecting bays on either side each have a three-light casement window on both floors, again with returned hoodmoulds. The north elevation mirrors the design of the south.
