Description

The iron screen opposite the North Lodge to Kedleston Park was designed in 1767 by Benjamin Yates. It is made of wrought iron and consists of a short length of plain spiked fencing that curves down at each end, flanking openwork iron gate piers topped with lamp brackets. Spiked iron gates are situated between the piers. This screen is a remnant of Yates' original design that enclosed the north front of Kedleston Hall and was relocated to its current position in 1916.
