Description

The North Chapel at Duffield Cemetery is a cemetery chapel built in 1880. It is constructed from rock-faced gritstone with gritstone dressings and features a plain tile roof with stone coped gables and moulded kneelers. The chapel is designed in the Early English style and has a moulded eaves cornice. The east elevation is symmetrical, featuring a central steeply gabled porch. The entrance is double chamfered and includes a hoodmould with foliage stops. On either side of the porch, there are single trefoiled lancet windows. The south side of the chapel has a 4-light window with plate tracery. The building is supported by angle buttresses that have steeply sloping set-offs.
