Description
Duffield North Bridge is a road bridge over the railway, built around 1839. It features a red brick structure faced in sandstone ashlar and rock-faced sandstone. The bridge has three elliptical arches supported by rock-faced piers that have pilaster strips extending above. There is an impost band, and the voussoirs of the arches are designed to resemble channelled masonry, filling the spandrels. A stepped stone band runs along the base of the shallow coped parapet, and there are end piers. This bridge is part of the main Midland Railway line.
