Description

Number 7 Aldgate is a cottage dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a Collyweston stone slate roof. The north end has a stone stack that has been heightened in brick. The building is two storeys tall and has a two-window range. To the left, there is a boarded door set within a moulded wooden architrave. Ground floor openings are topped with a massive stone lintel that has flush keystones. The first-floor windows are positioned at eaves level and have cills. Although all windows were blocked in 1983, the shutter hooks remain visible.
