Description

Garden Cottage is a house dated 1629. It is built of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, and has a Collyweston stone slate roof with coped gables and moulded stone end stacks. The front elevation features a two-storey canted bay window with a 1-3-1 arrangement, topped with a gable containing decorative kneelers and a datestone with a cornice. Stone ovolo-moulded mullions are found above the window openings, also with cornices. An entrance is located in a two-storey range to the rear, which adjoins a thatched barn, believed to have originally been a tithe barn.
