Description

Manor Farmhouse is a house dated 1640, constructed from coursed rubble stone and ashlar, featuring quoins and stone dressings. It has a Collyweston slate roof with a moulded stone ridge and end stacks, and stone coped shouldered gables, some adorned with finials. The building has gabled wings at either end and an ashlar porch located centrally on the right side, which is two storeys tall.

The house has 2½ storeys and includes four mostly stone mullion windows. On the left wing gable, there is a 3-light casement window with a cambered lintel, alongside a 3-light stone mullion window with a hood mould, and a blocked 2-light window above. The central section features a 4-light stone mullion window on both floors, the lower one with a hood mould. To the right of this is the porch, which has a flat arched doorway with a 6-panelled door inside, a 3-light stone mullion window above, and a sundial in the gable.

On the right wing gable, there is a 3-light stone mullion window with stone jambs, and above it, a stone tablet inscribed with the date 1640. There is also a 3-light stone mullion window with a hood mould on the first floor and a similar blocked 2-light window in the gable. The left end of the house has two stone framed 1-light windows, and at the rear, there is an additional span with a brick left end stack. Inside, the house features stone fireplaces.

Attached to the left end is a 19th-century barn with a Welsh slate roof that is hipped at the left end. The barn has a central doorway with a cambered brick lintel and double doors, as well as two tiers of loop holes.
