Description

Church Farmhouse is a house dating from 1586 and 1648, with substantial restoration carried out in the mid-20th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone, with a stone plinth, dressings, and a Collyweston slate roof featuring a moulded stone ridge and end stacks. Stone-coped gables with kneelers adorn the roof. The front elevation has two storeys with five two-light stone mullion windows. On the ground floor, there are windows of similar design with four, a door, three, two, and three lights respectively. A stone tablet above the right-hand window is inscribed with "R.O.C." and the date 1586; a matching tablet to the left bears "Z.C." and the date 1648. Two-storey and single-storey extensions have been added to the rear. Inside, a stone fireplace is notable for its moulded pilasters, cornice, and frieze.
