Description
Pepperday Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th to 17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with stone quoins and dressings, topped with a thatch roof featuring stone coped gables and moulded stone end stacks, including a stone end stack on an extension to the right. The gable faces the front to the right, and the building has two storeys with two sets of three-light stone mullion windows that have hood moulds. There is a central door with a thatched porch and a one-light window above to the left.
To the right, there is a lower two-storey extension that was raised a storey in the mid-20th century, featuring a glazed door and a three-light stone mullion window, along with a one-light and a two-light casement window above. At the rear, there is a 20th-century two-storey wing. The left end has a two-light casement window on both floors and an attic one-light window. Inside, the cottage includes beams, two inglenooks, close studded partitioning, and two stone fireplaces with Tudor arches.
