Description
The barn at Durant Farm, dating from the 17th or 18th century, is constructed from coursed rubble stone and features a Collyweston slate roof with stone coped gables. The gable end faces the churchyard and serves as part of the boundary. It has four tiers of triangular ventilation loops, a double door on the left side, and a blocked door on the right side that faces Church Farmhouse. Above the right door, there is a tablet that possibly reads 1755, along with a stone head stop, although the barn is likely older than this date. Inside, there is a renewed five-bay double purlin roof with tie beams and collars. This building is believed to have been a former tithe barn and is part of an important group of structures around the church. A lean-to on the wall facing Church Farmhouse is not considered to be of special interest.
