Description
Numbers 45 and 46 Aldgate are a row of three houses, now divided into two dwellings, dating from 1683 with later work in 1867. The datestones are located at the west end eaves. The houses are built of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, topped with a hipped slate roof and stone ridge stacks. Part of the east wall is constructed of brick. The houses are three storeys high and single-fronted. Each house has a door on the right side, and 16-pane sash windows to the ground and first floors. The second floor has a 6-pane louvre to the right-hand window, with 2-light casement windows elsewhere. A two-storey canted bay window with cresting is located at the west end.
