Description

No. 1 on Main Street is a house built in 1734. It is constructed from coursed squared stone with stone dressings and features a Collyweston slate roof with stone end stacks. The roof has double flues that are linked by arches, and the gables are coped with stone. The building has 2½ storeys and includes five 6/6 sash windows with stone architraves and keystones. There are also three 2-light dormers. The central entrance has a 20th-century door, and there is a stone tablet inscribed with "A. over W.R. 1734." The house has a second span at the rear.
