LYDDINGTON MAIN STREET SP 8697-8797 (west side) 9/71 No 7. II GV

House. C17, raised and altered C20. Coursed ironstone rubble, Welsh slate roof, brick chimneys to centre and between left bays. Cross-passage plan with blocked rear door. 2 storeys, 4 bays, left bay formerly an outbuilding. C20 barred wooden casements, mostly 2-light, with 3-light window to ground floor of third bay. Wide C20 board door to centre. Ground floor openings have wooden lintels. Rear has 2-light staircase window with chamfered stone mullion, re-used stone window with 2 arched lights, hollow-chamfered surround and Tudor hoodmould, and c.1980 conservatory. Interior: large fireplace in third bay backs onto central cross-passage and has slightly chamfered wooden lintel; winder stair in line with fireplace; another large fireplace with cambered stop-chamfered lintel and blocked arch to oven in second bay. Right bays have heavy stop-chamfered ceiling beams; second bay has re-used ovolo-moulded spine beam, inserted c.1980.
