Description

No 7 on Main Street is a 17th-century house that has been raised and altered in the 20th century. It is built from coursed ironstone rubble and has a Welsh slate roof with brick chimneys located at the center and between the left bays. The house features a cross-passage plan with a blocked rear door. It stands two stories tall and has four bays, with the left bay previously used as an outbuilding. The windows are mostly 20th-century wooden casements, primarily 2-light, and there is a 3-light window on the ground floor of the third bay. A wide 20th-century board door is located at the center, and the ground floor openings have wooden lintels.

At the rear, there is a 2-light staircase window with a chamfered stone mullion, a re-used stone window featuring two arched lights with a hollow-chamfered surround and a Tudor hoodmould, as well as a conservatory added around 1980. Inside, there is a large fireplace in the third bay that backs onto the central cross-passage, featuring a slightly chamfered wooden lintel. A winder stair aligns with the fireplace, and there is another large fireplace in the second bay with a cambered stop-chamfered lintel and a blocked arch for an oven. The right bays have heavy stop-chamfered ceiling beams, and the second bay includes a re-used ovolo-moulded spine beam that was inserted around 1980.
