Description

Church Bridge is a bridge dating from the late 17th century to the 18th century, which was widened in the 20th century. It is constructed of ashlar and features three rounded arches along with two cutwaters that rise into the parapet on the upstream side. The downstream side has been significantly widened and lacks cutwaters. The bridge has stone coped parapets and is likely a restoration from the 18th century of an earlier structure. It carries Stamford Road over the River Gwash and is designated as a scheduled ancient monument.
