Description
The School is a building dating from 1838, with an enlargement in 1872. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with quoins and stone dressings, topped with a 20th-century tile roof featuring two small ridge louvres. The building is single-storey and has four 3-light casement windows with small panes that open from the center. The window lintels are adorned with keystones. At each end of the building, there is a porch with a hipped roof made of Collyweston slate and doors. There is also a small 20th-century extension at the rear. A stone tablet in the center of the front facade is inscribed with 'This school was erected by Sir Gilbert Heathcote Bt., MDCCCXXXVIII: enlarged by Baron Aveland, MDCCCLXXII.' The building is included for its group value.
