Description

No. 8 Melton Road is a cottage dating from around 1700. It is constructed from coursed rubble stone with quoins and features a Collyweston slate roof, which has a brick central ridge and stacks at the right end. The gables are stone coped. The cottage has 1½ storeys and includes three 2-light hipped dormers above two 2-light casement windows, along with a central 20th-century stone porch that has glazed sides. There is a fixed 1-light window in the gable facing the road. At the rear, there is a 2½ storey wing with a 1-light window on the first floor facing the road. On the gable end, there are two 2-light stone mullion windows with hood moulds on each floor, although half of the upper window and all of the other two windows are blocked.
