Description

A staddle barn, likely dating from the early 19th century, stands 20 metres south east of Home Farm. The barn is timber-framed and is now clad in corrugated iron with a half-hipped roof covered in concrete tiles. It features a central wagon cross-passage accessed through double gates that survive on the north east side, equipped with three pairs of L-hinges. The gates allow access to raised platforms on either side. Apart from the roof, the structure remains largely intact, featuring original timber board cladding and framing with straight angle braces. The roof structure consists of principals, collars, and ties. The barn is supported by 18 mushroom-shaped staddle stones.
