Description

The walling to the western stable yard and entrance court dates from around 1710. It is made of coursed rubble with rough coping and features ashlar gate piers topped with urns as finials. This section of walling is the only remaining part of the structure that once enclosed the great courtyard to the north of the house, with the rest having been demolished following the advice of Repton around 1796.
