Description
Nos. 8-14 on Chapel Lane are four cottages dating from the late 17th to 18th century. They are constructed of coursed rubble stone and feature a Collyweston slate roof, which is complemented by four buff and red brick ridge stacks and a red brick stack at the left end. The cottages are arranged in an L shape, with a long wing extending to the rear on the right side down an alleyway.
The buildings are two storeys high. The front facing the street has two 2-light casement windows and one 3-light casement window, with above them a 2-light stone mullion window, a 1-light window, a 3-light stone mullion window, and another 2-light casement window. On the left end, there is a lean-to with a 20th-century tile roof. The right side facing the alley features six 1 and 2-light casement windows, along with three doors. Towards the left, there is a 3-light stone mullion window. The entrance to No. 14 is located at the rear.
